  East is an oriental restaurant located upsatirs from Charters pub on the same boat. East is unique (for Peterborough at least) in that it serves dishes from amny Eastern cuisines including Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Korean and Japanese. With these choices it's not a dull place to eat.
  
  Being on a boat, it can be a slight cramped affair when full, but that can easly be forgiven. Thai and Chinese beer is available and is refreshing with some of the spicy offerings. Tempura, satay, green and red curries are available as well as less familiar dishes such yellow curry.
  
  Prices are reasonable for a restaurant of this type. With attentative service and a wide choice on the menu, you are sure to be satisfied.

  This place was really classy and savvy, I came for a date and this place was definitely up to par. The food was extremely succulent and well made, I love it!

  Went to East for my work leaving do a couple of weeks back. Admittedly we got there late (8:45 ish), and there was about 9 of us, but the food still seemed to take an age to come. I think it eventually arrived at around 10:15, by which time we'd had to move inside (where there were no tables) as it had got cold outside!
  However, the food is always excellent at East, good rates, and they do good offers around lunchtime with a service guarantee.

  I get takeaways frequently from East. The food is fantastic although a tiny bit pricey. Our favourite dishes are the Duck Red Curry and Fisherman's Soup. We have tried a variety of dishes from their menu and have not been disappointed! For some reason, the food is even tastier if eaten there - possibly serving it sooner makes that difference.
  
  Also, I believe there is still a 10% discount on orders before 7pm on most weeknights!

  East is my favourite oriental restaurants in Peterborough. It is situated on a boat on the river and is upstairs from Charters Bar. The menu is very varied and covers several different oriental cuisines rather than just Chinese or Thai which makes the choice much more interesting and places this restaurant above any others in the area. The food is fantastic, I would highly reccommend it. There are also plenty of vegetarian options and they are very helpful if you have any other specific dietary requirements (although they would rather you call in advance to warn them). Prices are a little steep but it is worth spending that bit extra just for the quality and the friendly atmosphere. My only warning would be to watch how much you drink as the walk to the toilets is not level which can make you feel slightly disorientated when sober let alone after a few glasses of wine. Enjoy!
